We are here today to celebrate with Tom and Marie an important moment in their lives. In the time that they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown, matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife.
Love is not meant to be and cannot be the possession of one person alone. True love serves as a source of common energy, as a fount from which you both draw sustenance to live your lives with creative courage. Let your love give you the strength to stand apart so that you may each seek out your unique destinies and make your special contributions to the world.
On behalf of Tom and Marie I would like to welcome you to this joyous celebration. Today we’ve come together to celebrate the special Love that exists between Tom and Marie and their desire to make their Love eternal through the commitment marriage. When two people promise with Love in their hearts to share the adventure of life, it is a beautiful moment that they and all of us who are present today will always remember. Tom and Marie, you are entering into marriage because you want to be together. You are marrying because you know you will grow more in happiness and Love more fully as life-mates. You will belong entirely to each other, one in mind, one in heart, and in all things. No greater blessing of happiness can come to you than to have this devoted Love, which you now publicly avow. Keep this understanding of your marriage alive in the days ahead. May your Love continuously grow truer and more wonderful with each day you enjoy together.
The Apostle Paul says in I Cor. “Love is patient, love is kind, love is gentle. Love does not know hate or anger. Love does not brag or boast. But real love believes all things, hopes all things and bears all things. Believe in God and believe in each other and real love will never fail you.
And now do you Tom take Marie to be your wife? Do you promise to love and cherish her in sickness and in health, in prosperity or adversity so long as you both shall live?
And do you Marie take Tom to be your husband? Do you promise to love and cherish him in sickness and in health, in prosperity or adversity so long as you both shall live?

I hold in my hand the rings which are a token of your love and faith that you have in each other. It represents a circle, a never ending circle of love. The rings are an important symbol they are made of precious metals and diamonds and if you care for these properly they will last a lifetime. You have promised to stay together the rest of your lives. Don’t let anything separate you one from the other. Always walk together side by side, hand in hand, supporting each other. As your rings are made to last a lifetime, so is your love one for another. May these rings serve as a daily reminder of the vows you have shared with each other this day.
